Developing Your Child’s IEP
Being a parent of a child with a disability can feel overwhelming. It can feel like Being a parent of a child with a disability can feel overwhelming. It can feel like a full-time job just keeping track of their medical information and appointments, therapies, insurance, and education. Being well-informed and educated about the services and supports available to your child can help you feel less overwhelmed and will ensure your child receives the help they need to be successful.
As a child with a disability, they may be eligible for special education services in school. If so, it will be important for you to learn:
- more about special education;
- how special education services can support your child; and
- what part you can play in the special education process.
The good news is there is a lot of information available for parents that will help you know what you need to know. Here we cover the basics of the special education process and give you information on how to be an effective partner with your child’s school.
